The Quincy Gems are excited to partner with O’Donnell-Cookson Life Celebration Home to continue our Field of Dreams program during the 2021 season.

The Field of Dreams program gives youth organizations and teams an opportunity to spend time with Gems players before each home game. Youth baseball, softball, and all other youth organizations are invited to participate for FREE.

“Supporting local youth sports teams in our community is a long-standing tradition with O’Donnell Funeral Homes dating back to the early 1900s,” says O’Donnell-Cookson owner Jimmy O’Donnell. “We recognize the values of teamwork and character that sport can instill in our youth and inspire them to succeed.  This is a small way that we can give back to a community that has been so good to us over the years and one that we are proud to call home.”

Groups will get to watch and meet with the players at the end of batting practice, join the Gems on-field for the starting lineups, receive autographs from players, and get a team photo on the field.

“The kids love it,” says Gems Assistant General Manager Brett Peters. “Seeing the smiles on the kid’s faces when they play catch with our players is a highlight of game day for us and for them. We spend our offseason trying to figure out how to give our fans the best experience possible, we know this one works!”

The Quincy Gems begin their season on May 27 with their first home game on Saturday, May 29.
